Teach quality on a working system.
For courses in quality control, Six Sigma, Lean and ISO 9001. Students raise corrective actions and read control charts themselves, on a practice company in Kanso.
Talk to us about a courseBore diameter (mm) · individuals chart
n = 20 · last 20 parts
Rule 2 · nine points in a row on one side of the center line
The mean has moved up about 0.007 mm since part 12, still inside the limits. That lines up with the new tooling batch logged on 09/22. Open a CAPA →

In the lab
What students do in a semester
- Lab 1
Control a document
Draft a procedure, send it for approval, collect signatures and watch the old revision retire.
- Lab 2
Close a nonconformance
Record a defect, find the cause, raise the corrective action and link the evidence that it worked.
- Lab 3
Read a control chart
Plot measurements, apply the Nelson rules and decide whether the process has shifted.
- Lab 4
Run a DMAIC project
Charter, SIPOC, hypothesis tests, measurement system analysis, FMEA and a control plan, inside one project.
- Lab 5
Prepare for an audit
Gather the records for an ISO 9001 clause and see what is still missing.

What we provide
- A practice company built from sample data, so students work on realistic records
- A separate workspace for each class, with sign-ins for students and instructors
- The Kanso manual as course material
- A walkthrough for the instructor before the semester starts
Kanso was built by an industrial engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt, for use in real factories. The tools students learn here are the ones a quality department runs every day.
