1. No Data Collection

Mansuba ("the App"), published by eClips (https://eclips.tech), does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any personal data. The App has no user accounts — you never register, log in, or provide an email address. It has no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporters, no cookies, and no device fingerprinting. It shares nothing with third parties, because there is no personal data to share.

2. Data Stored on Your Device Only

To make the App work, the following is saved in the App's private local storage on your device only: the player name(s) you type and the emblem you choose; game results, ELO ratings, XP, completed lessons, drills, and puzzles; your daily activity streak and any game you paused mid-play; and app preferences such as board theme, piece style, language, light/dark appearance, and reminder settings. This information never leaves your device, and eClips has no ability to access it.

3. Daily Reminders and Location

Daily reminders are optional and off until you turn them on. When enabled, the App schedules local notifications at Islamic prayer times: a prayer reminder at each of the five prayer times, and a chess practice nudge thirty minutes after each. To calculate those times, the App requests your approximate location once and performs the calculation entirely on your device using the open-source adhan library. Your location is used for that calculation only — it is never stored, never transmitted, and never shared, and there is no server involved. If you decline location access, fixed fallback times are used instead. A separate switch lets you keep the chess nudges without the prayer reminders. Turning reminders off cancels all scheduled notifications and ends any location use.

4. Sharing a Result

When you tap "Share" after winning a game or solving a puzzle, the App renders an image on your device and passes it to your operating system's standard share sheet. You choose the destination — for example a messaging app — and that app then handles the image under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to eClips, and nothing is ever shared automatically. Separately, after a milestone win the App may ask iOS to display Apple's standard "rate this app" dialog; that dialog is presented by the operating system, and eClips does not receive your rating, your review, or any indication that it appeared.

5. Anonymous Game Sharing (On by Default, Easy to Turn Off)

To improve Mansuba's chess AI, finished games are shared anonymously. This is disclosed during onboarding, and a switch in Profile → Data & privacy ("Help Mansuba get smarter") turns it off at any time. What is shared: the chess moves of the game, the result, the AI difficulty played, your color, a coarse rating band (e.g. "400–599"), and the calendar day. What is never shared: your name, profile names, email, device identifiers, IP-derived profiles, precise timestamps, or anything else identifying. Server access logs (including IP addresses) are not retained beyond transient operational needs and are never joined to game data. Because this data contains no identifiers, it cannot be linked back to you. As of the current version, no upload backend is active — games queue locally and nothing leaves the device until a future update activates the service, at which point this policy's effective date will be updated.

6. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar Laws)

Because all data stays under your physical control: Access and portability — your data is on your device; nothing is held elsewhere. Erasure — delete a profile inside the App (Profile → Delete current profile), or uninstall the App; either permanently destroys the data. Standard OS backups (e.g. iCloud device backup) may retain a copy under your own Apple or Google account, governed by their terms, not ours. Objection, restriction, and consent withdrawal — not applicable, as no processing of personal data by eClips occurs. We process no personal data, so no lawful-basis analysis, data-processing agreements, or international-transfer mechanisms are required.

7. Children

The App is suitable for all ages — no ads, no chat, and no external links except our own website. Since no data is collected from anyone, no data is collected from children, and no parental consent mechanism is required.

8. Future Online Features

If a future version adds optional online features (for example cloud backup, leaderboards, or multiplayer), this policy will be updated before those features ship, and the App will ask for your explicit consent before any data is synced off your device.

9. Contact & Changes

Questions about this policy: via https://eclips.tech/contact. We will post any changes to this policy at this URL and update the effective date. Material changes will be highlighted inside the App.
