1. License
These Terms govern your use of the Mansuba mobile application ("the App"), published by eClips (https://eclips.tech). By using the App you agree to these Terms. eClips grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes.
2. Free of Charge — For Now
The App is currently free. eClips may introduce optional paid features or packages in the future. Features you already use for free will not be retroactively locked behind a paywall without clear notice.
3. Acceptable Use
You may not: (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App except where permitted by law; (b) redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense the App or its content; (c) use the App's curriculum, lesson texts, or design in another product without written permission.
4. Intellectual Property
The App, its curriculum, lesson content, design, and branding are the property of eClips. The App includes third-party content used under license: 3D chess piece renders from Staunton-Pieces by James Clarke (MIT License); 2D chess piece vectors from the Cburnett set by Colin M. L. Burnett (CC-BY-SA 3.0, via lichess); the chess.js rules engine (BSD-2-Clause License). Certain puzzle positions are adapted from real amateur games referenced in Tactics Time by Tim Brennan & Anthea Carson (positions of chess games are factual data; the books are credited in-app as recommended reading). Sound effects are original.
5. No Warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. eClips does not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that the chess advice will win you any particular game.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ECLIPS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. As the App is free and processes no personal data, total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App (currently: zero).
7. Termination & Governing Law
These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. Uninstalling the App terminates the license. eClips may terminate or update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which eClips is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
