The Analytics Engine
Kanso includes a native business-intelligence engine, so you analyze your live quality data without a separate BI license. It reaches further than a spreadsheet or a static dashboard — on the same data your quality system already holds.
Datasets and refresh
Analysis in Kanso starts with datasets. A dataset is built through a transform pipeline that shapes and cleans your source data into an analysis-ready form, and it can be refreshed on a schedule so dashboards stay current without manual rebuilds.
Because datasets are curated up front, the charts and dashboards that read them share a consistent, trusted foundation rather than each pulling its own ad-hoc extract.
Visualize and explore
Datasets feed a wide range of chart types — bar, line, combo, heatmap, choropleth map, and more — so you can match the visualization to the question. Once a dashboard is on screen, it stays interactive:
- Global, per-widget, and cross-filters to slice the whole board or a single chart.
- Click-to-drill-down to move from a summary into the detail behind it.
- Excel and PDF export to share results outside the app.

Power modes: SQL, Python, and R
For analysts who want to go deeper, Kanso opens the layers beneath the visual builder. A SQL power mode lets you view and edit the SQL the engine generates, so you can see exactly how a chart's numbers are produced and refine them by hand.
- Python and R script widgets run deeper analysis directly on your data.
- A Data Lab reads curated datasets for exploratory work.
This is analysis that a spreadsheet or a static BI dashboard cannot reach — statistical scripting and live querying, all pointed at your quality data.
Ask, schedule, and template
Dashboards do not have to be read passively. A dashboard AI agent lets you question a board in plain English and get answers grounded in its data. When a report needs to reach people on a cadence, report subscriptions email it on a schedule, and report templates scaffold a new dashboard so you start from structure rather than a blank canvas.
Trust and reconciliation
Analysis is only useful if you can trust it. Kanso includes control totals you can reconcile against the source system, so a figure on a dashboard can be traced back and confirmed rather than taken on faith.
